There is Light in Trying

Everyone struggles and everyone experiences failure at some point. But depending on how you look at it – my feelings are that the real failure lies in not trying. This piece is about that sting of initial disappointment, but, if you look around you at what you’ve achieved – the fact that you tried something in the first place still means progress, and still means you are getting somewhere – and that alone is magnificent.

This painting was a finalist of the TACIT Still Life Prize 2022.

Here are the technical details (with translation afterwards!)

All of my artworks are scanned on a large format flatbed scanner using the most advanced scanning technology available in Australia. This exceptional scanner captures artworks at over 800 megapixels, achieving a level of depth never before seen in a digitised file. After scanning, the files are compared with the original artwork and necessary changes are made to ensure an exact reproduction.

Translation… the technique used to capture the painting is the closest to the original you will possibly get – in detail AND in colour.

More technical details (and more translating!)
